What's in the tool kit?
  • 1 soil knife and leather sheath
  • 1 folding saw
  • 1 pruners
  • 1 loppers
  • 1 Pullerbear (a mechanical tool for pulling shrubs out of the ground)*
Tool kits #6 and #8 each have two of the soil knives, folding saws, pruner, and loppers, intended to outfit 5-8 people.

In addition, each tool kit comes with a plastic bag with the equipment and instructions needed to use herbicide for the borrower to keep. This includes an Herbicide Safety sheet, a Calendar of Control, a 32 oz. spray bottle, a 2 oz. dabber with sponge top, a small and large funnel, a measuring cup, nitrile gloves in four sizes, and safety glasses (no herbicide is included). That plastic bag and its contents are for the borrower to keep.

*Want instructions on how to use a Pullerbear to yank invasive shrubs out of the ground? Here's a video for Pullerbear Pro XL 321. Note - some kits have a Pullerbear Pro XL, which is not adjustable but otherwise works the same way.

Want to Borrow a Tool Kit?
To borrow a tool kit, find one of the eight on the map in a convenient area for you to pick up and return.

Then check the availability of the kit you want to borrow here:

Tool Kit Availability
If the kit you want is not available, you can either check for other nearby kits or ask to reserve the kit when it comes back.

Use the contact information for the tool kit host on the form to call or email the host and request the kit. He/she will make arrangements for pickup.

Each kit may be checked out for two weeks. If no one is waiting for the kit to become available, you may be able to check it out for longer.
