2025 Invasive Tree Removal Funding Assistance
MC-IRIS will provide Monroe County landowners up to $400 to reimburse the cost to remove Callery pear, tree of heaven, or white mulberry. Costs for tree cutting, brush removal, and stump grinding are eligible.

- Is there a deadline for applications? This is an ongoing application process, but to be considered for a 2025 grant, applications should be received by September 30. Receipts must be dated 11/1/2024 or after. Apply early! Only 20 applications will be funded this year.
- Can we apply funds to the purchase of replacement native trees? No, funds are only for incurred costs to remove invasive trees. To apply for a free replacement tree or shrub, go to the 2025 Reduce Invasive Species Challenge.
- How much is available? Up to $400 per landowner, regardless of how many invasive trees are removed.
- How do I apply for these funds? Fill out this application, including uploading a before/after picture showing the work and the receipt(s).
- How can I be sure my tree is one of the invasive species, and how do I make sure the invasive tree does not resprout? More information on both identification and control methods can be found by clicking the species you are removing - Callery pear, tree of heaven, or white mulberry (the same control methods as for Callery pear work for white mulberry).
